2017-05-28Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Walk -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind presents our 33rd annual Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Dog Walk. This is an event for the general public and your pet dogs to raise funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Sign up online on our home page at www.guidedogs.ca or for a hard-copy entry form email events@guidedogs.ca. Raise pledges in advance. $100 in pledges will get you an exclusive Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind t-shirt; $500 gets you a $50 gift card from a major retailer; $1,000 will get you a $100 gift card. Join us on Sunday, May 28 for the 4-km walk with your dog at Andrew Haydon Park in Ottawa, plus a dog social, barbecue, and lots of prizes. Registration on event day is from 9:30am-10:15am and the walk starts at 10:30am. If you live outside of Ottawa, you can still raise pledges and walk in your own community.

2017-06-02Dickinson Day Parade -

Look for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind in the annual Dickinson Day Parade in our hometown location of Manotick, Ontario. It’s a tribute to the founding father of the village of Manotick. The parade starts at 7:00pm from the Manotick Arena and makes its’ way down Manotick Main Street.

2017-06-03Doors Open Ottawa -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will participate in “Doors Open Ottawa” at our National Training Centre, from 10am-4pm. Stop by to learn more about our organization. The day includes tours of our residence and kennel buildings, and training demonstrations. We look forward to opening our doors to you. Admission to this event is free, but donations are gratefully accepted on-site. If you enjoy your day please consider supporting what we do!

2017-06-25Nine & Dine Golf Fun Day & Lobster Dinner -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host our 4th annual Nine & Dine Golf Fun Day & Lobster Dinner at the Canadian Golf & Country Club, 7800 Golf Club Way, Ashton on Sunday, June 25, 2017. The day features 9-holes of golf with cart, plus a scrumptious, full lobster dinner to follow. Shotgun start is 2:00pm, with dinner at 5:30pm, and plenty of prizes. This is meant as a fun day of golf. Experienced players are certainly welcome. However, we encourage new or occasional golfers to join in the fun, with no pressure! Registration is open now. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind hosts our annual UK Day Garden Party & Tea. Stop by for tea & scones and enjoy the live music from David Bean on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 1:00pm-4:00pm. The event takes place at the National Training Centre of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, 4120 Rideau Valley Drive North, Manotick. This is a rain or shine event with indoor & outdoor seating. All proceeds are directed towards the training of guide dogs and assistance dogs.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host a Guide Dogs Info Day at the Stormont Dundas & Glengarry County Library in Alexandria, Ontario. Meet “Gus”, a working guide dog, and learn more about what guide dogs do and how they help. The event starts at 11:00am on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
