Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is holding a raffle with your chance to win a “Gift of Flight” from WestJet. Tickets are $20 each. The prize is a return flight for two people to any scheduled WestJet destination including all fees and taxes. You can purchase tickets by stopping into our National Training Centre during business hours or phone (613) 692-7777. We’ll also be selling tickets at several community events in the Ottawa area. And, tickets are available on our website at www.guidedogs.ca. Contact us for more information. City of Ottawa Raffle License #M720350. The draw will be held on December 19, 2014. This raffle is open to Ontario residents only, ages 18 and older.

2014-11-12Stroller & Coat Check Campaign -

Until Sunday, November 30, 2014, Richmond Centre, in Richmond, British Columbia, is supporting Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind through their stroller rental and coat check donations program, in which they raise funds for charities on a monthly basis. Richmond Centre will do so throughout the month November.

2014-11-15Kanata Santa Claus Parade -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will participate in the Kanata Santa Claus Parade. It’s our first appearance in this parade, which starts at 10:00am.

2014-11-20CGDB at Barrister House -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host a display at Barrister House in Ottawa from 11am-1:30pm. With 15 tenants and 10 floors of office space, employees within Barrister House can stop by the front foyer and meet a working guide dog, plus purchase our exclusive guide dogs and canine related merchandise in time for Christmas, including our new selection of exclusive Christmas cards. The main foyer of this building is open to the public, so if you work in the area, you too can stop by.

Look for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind in the annual Barrhaven Santa Claus Parade. It starts at 5:30pm and makes its way down Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven, between Beatrice Drive and Greenbank Road.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host an Information Booth at World Exchange Plaza, 111 Albert Street, Ottawa from 10:30am-1:30pm. Stop by to check out our exclusive guide dogs and canine related merchandise, plus meet a dog or two. You can purchase our new Christmas cards, 2015 calendars, and more. Look for us near the escalator on the ground floor – towards the east entrance to the building.

Look for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind in the annual Manotick Santa Claus Parade. It starts at 1pm at the Manotick Arena and winds its way southbound on Manotick Main Street.

2015-02-21Ottawa New Horizons Jazz Band Concert -

Manotick Veterinary Hospital invites you to dance to the music of Ottawa New Horizons Jazz Band, under the direction of Brian Asselin. The band will perform on Saturday, February 21, 2014 from 8pm-11pm at Orchard View Conference Centre in Ottawa. A limited number of tickets will be available from Manotick Veterinary Hospital, with 100% of the proceeds to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Tickets are $30.00. 2015-05-31Dollars$ for Dog$ Fundraising Walk -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host our 31st annual fundraising walk on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Join us for the Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Walk, a 4-km walk with your best canine friend, plus a BBQ and terrific prizes. You can attend our national walk in Ottawa, Ontario. The more pledges you raise, the more prizes you can win. If you live outside of Ottawa, you can still register and walk in your own community.

Coming in 2015: Local or national walkers can create a profile page and register online by going to our homepage at www.guidedogs.ca. For a hard copy pledge form email events@guidedogs.ca or phone 613-692-7777. More information coming soon.

The first time was so much fun, we’re doing it again! The 2nd annual Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind Nine & Dine Golf Fun Day will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Carleton Golf & Yacht Club in Manotick. Keep the day open and join us for golf & dinner. Additional information is coming soon.
