Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind has launched our Easter Chocolate Fundraiser 2017 in partnership with Purdy’s Chocolatier. You can purchase your Easter chocolate and support Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. This program gives 25% of the profit back to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, and it’s an easy way to complete your Easter shopping. Prices are the same as in Purdy’s stores and many items are under $10! All Purdy’s Chocolates are made FRESH in their factory and without additives or preservatives.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is hosting a raffle for two 100 level seats to the Ottawa Senators vs. New York Rangers on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the C.T.C. in Ottawa. The package, valued at $375, also includes free parking and a pre-game buffet for two at the Alumni Club. Raffle tickets are $10 each, with a maximum of 187 to be sold. Tickets can be purchased at Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind’s National Training Centre, by phone at (613) 692-7777 or on our home page at www.guidedogs.ca. The raffle is open to any Ontario resident 18 years of age or older, in accordance with the lottery license #M758500. The draw will be held at 10:00am on March 31, 2017 at Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind with the winner to be notified by phone.

Global Pet Foods’ 11th annual “Show Us Your Heart” Campaign takes place from February 10-26, 2017. For a fourth consecutive year, the store at 3191 Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven (Ottawa, Ontario) has chosen Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind as their charity of choice for this campaign. Global Pet Foods and a national dog food company will match every $1 donation, which will be presented to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Other contests, events and promotions will occur in-store. This is a national campaign by Global Pet Foods helping various animal shelters. The Barrhaven location has received special permission from their head office to forgo collecting for a shelter, and instead collect funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Global Pet Foods Barrhaven location is located just 6-kms from the National Training Centre of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. In support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, students in the Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management program at Algonquin College present “Flashback to the Fabulous Fifties”. Join us for a 3-course meal (inclusive), a silent auction, photo booth, live performances, and be a part of raising funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind through all proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction. “Flashback to the Fabulous Fifties” will take place on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5:00pm-8:30pm in Restaurant International at Algonquin College. Meet future guide dogs when the doors open at 7:30pm, and groove and dance to the music from 8:00pm. 100% of ticket sales benefit Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, and the venue has been donated free of charge by Orchard View. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind presents our 33rd annual Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Dog Walk. This is an event for the general public and your pet dogs to raise funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Sign up online on our home page at www.guidedogs.ca or for a hard-copy entry form email firstname.lastname@example.org. Raise pledges in advance. $100 in pledges will get you an exclusive Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind t-shirt; $500 gets you a $50 gift card from a major retailer; $1,000 will get you a $100 gift card. Join us on Sunday, May 28 for the 4-km walk with your dog at Andrew Haydon Park in Ottawa, plus a dog social, barbecue, and lots of prizes. Registration on event day is from 9:30am-10:15am and the walk starts at 10:30am. If you live outside of Ottawa, you can still raise pledges and walk in your own community.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host our 4th annual Nine & Dine Golf Fun Day & Lobster Dinner at the Canadian Golf & Country Club, 7800 Golf Club Way, Ashton on Sunday, June 25, 2017. The day features 9-holes of golf with cart, plus a scrumptious, full lobster dinner to follow. Shotgun start is 2:00pm, with dinner at 5:30pm, and plenty of prizes. This is meant as a fun day of golf. Experienced players are certainly welcome. However, we encourage new or occasional golfers to join in the fun, with no pressure!
