Until then end of 2015, CIBC Manotick Branch hosts “Dress Down Fridays” for their staff; in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, every Friday at their location. On selected Fridays, you can meet guide dogs in training or working guide dogs at the Manotick CIBC Branch. Check our display table for information on our organization and upcoming events or make a contribution into our donation dog throughout the year.

Pet Valu is hosting their fifth annual Pet Appreciation Month during the month of April. Pet Valu raises money for different charities or foundations, and the store in Hawkesbury, Ontario has chosen Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Their customers can purchase a “PAW” for the amount they choose to donate. They write their pet’s name in the middle and the paws are posted on the store windows. In addition, they will host a guide dog “Meet and Greet” from 11am-3pm on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Stop by to meet a working guide dog or guide dog in training.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host our 31st annual fundraising walk on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Join us for the Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Walk at Andrew Haydon Park, a 4-km walk with your best canine friend, plus a BBQ and terrific prizes. You can attend our national walk in Ottawa, Ontario. The more pledges you raise, the more prizes you can win. If you live outside of Ottawa, you can still register and walk in your own community.
Coming soon: Local or national walkers can create a profile page and register online by going to our homepage at www.guidedogs.ca. The first time was so much fun, we’re doing it again! The 2nd annual Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind Nine & Dine Golf Fun Day will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Carleton Golf & Yacht Club in Manotick. Keep the day open and join us for golf & dinner. Additional information is coming soon.

The 27th annual Guide Dog Dice Run is an all-brand motorcycle ride in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Hosted by the Ottawa River Riders, all bikers are welcome to join us, rain or shine, to raise funds towards the training of guide dogs and assistance dogs. Registration is from 9:00-10:30, with free Tim Horton’s coffee & Timbits from the Rogers 22 Community Cruiser. Depart once you’re signed up and begin the 200-km ride through Eastern Ontario. After the ride, stay for a barbecue, prizes, and a walk through our kennels to meet some dogs. Cost is $20 per person, which is paid on-site and includes ride registration, one score card, and one BBQ ticket.
