Global Pet Foods’ 9th annual “Show Us Your Heart” Campaign takes place from January 31 – February 15, 2015. For a second consecutive year, the store at 3191 Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven (Ottawa, Ontario) has chosen Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind as their charity of choice for this campaign. Global Pet Foods and a national dog food company will match every $1 donation, which will be presented to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Buy a $5 paper heart and receive 10 bonus Air Miles reward miles. This is a national campaign by Global Pet Foods helping various animal shelters. The Barrhaven location has received special permission from their head office to forgo collecting for a shelter, and instead collect funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Manotick Veterinary Hospital invites you to dance to the music of the Ottawa New Horizons “Two Beats Ahead Big Band”, under the direction of Brian Asselin. The benefit dance and silent auction will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 8:00pm at Orchard View Wedding & Conference Centre, 6346 Deermeadow Drive, Ottawa, with 100% of the proceeds in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Tickets are $30. Enjoy music and canapés throughout the evening. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host our 31st annual fundraising walk on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Join us for the Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Walk at Andrew Haydon Park, a 4-km walk with your best canine friend, plus a BBQ and terrific prizes. You can attend our national walk in Ottawa, Ontario. The more pledges you raise, the more prizes you can win. If you live outside of Ottawa, you can still register and walk in your own community.

The 27th annual Guide Dog Dice Run is an all-brand motorcycle ride in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Hosted by the Ottawa River Riders, all bikers are welcome to join us, rain or shine, to raise funds towards the training of guide dogs and assistance dogs. Registration is from 9:00-10:30. Depart once you’re signed up and begin the 200-km ride through Eastern Ontario. After the ride, stay for a barbecue, prizes, and a walk through our kennels to meet some dogs. Cost is $20 per person, which is paid on-site and includes ride registration, one score card, and one BBQ ticket.
