A
volunteer is a person who believes that people can make
a difference and is willing to prove it. Volunteerism
is not real work unless you would rather be doing something
else. By caring and contributing to change, volunteers
decrease suffering and disparity while they gain skills,
self-esteem and change their lives. People work to improve
the lives of their neighbours and in return enhance their
own.
Volunteers dont work for money. They work for less
tangible but equally important forms of remuneration such
as satisfaction, appreciation and the opportunity to build
skills.
Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind relies greatly on
volunteers to add to the success of our organization.
We require volunteers in all geographical areas of the
country. If you are interested in volunteering
for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, please complete
the volunteer
application (PDF) and mail it to our National Office
& Training Centre in Manotick, Ontario. We will
then forward it to the Chapter or Volunteer Coordinator
in your area.
