Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is hosting a fundraising walk the last weekend of May. The 37th annual Dollars for Dogs Walk has gone to a virtual format due to the timeline of the provincial lockdown. Sunday, May 30, will be the day to help raise funds for the dogs and clients who require a guide dog.
Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is a charitable organization founded in 1984 that relies heavily on public support and funding to provide Canadians with greater mobility and independence. Their beautiful facility in Manotick is where clients and dogs can work together to learn all about one another and better a client’s lifestyle with the help of a guide dog.
“It is an important fundraiser for us. We need to make sure we are bringing in the income and the revenues we need to support all of the teams that are out there, and keep training the new teams that need a guide dog,” said Alex Ivic, manager of development with Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind.
