Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind presents our 42nd annual Dollars for Dogs Fundraising Walk. This public event encourages our supporters and their pet dogs to raise funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Collect pledges in advance and walk 4 KM with us on Sunday May 31st, 2026, at 10:30am in Andrew Haydon Park or in your own neighborhood anywhere across Canada-coast-to-coast-to-coast! 

Sign up by clicking the link below and creating an online profile to raise funds for the event; an easy way to ask for donations from friends, family members, and colleagues. You can also get your entry form today by emailing events@guidedogs.ca or by phoning (613) 692-7777.

Those joining us Sunday May 31st in Nepean at the park should bring their pledge sheets and donations with them. Funds from neighborhood walks can be sent, or dropped off in person after May 31st, to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind.

At Andrew Haydon Park, attendees dropping off donations will be eligible for the following fundraising incentives:

  • $100+ – a goodie bag, plus an exclusive Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind t-shirt, presented to the participant when delivering funds.
  • $500+ – a goodie bag, a t-shirt, and a $50 retail gift card (gift card mailed a few weeks later)
  • $1000+ – a goodie bag, a t-shirt, and a $100 retail gift card (gift card mailed a few weeks later)

If you submit funds online, by mail or by phone, you will still be eligible to receive a gift card! Gift cards will be mailed out following the event. Goodie bags and t-shirts cannot be shipped. Registration for the Ottawa event will take place in-person on May 31st, 2026 between 9:30am-10:30am at Andrew Haydon Park.

Neighborhood Walks will be held on May 31st, 2026. Please ensure that all pledge forms and donations for the virtual walk are submitted by June 1st, 2026.

Fundraising Walk:

You can assist Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind by obtaining pledges and participating in the Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Walk. If you would rather not obtain pledges, you can simply pay our $30 entry fee instead.

Please keep your dog on a leash at all times, clean up after your dog, and enjoy a walk in beautiful Andrew Haydon Park.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind assists visually impaired Canadians with their mobility by providing and training them in the use of professionally trained guide dogs. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind also trains Assistance Dogs for individuals with a mobility related disability. Our Assistance Dogs Division provides domiciliary training within a 200-km radius of Ottawa (within Canada).
